Hi All, I having been looking at Lord of the Rings for a little while now. The models are nice, but inexpensive. The armies seem to be simple enough, but with some variety. And the rules are quick it seems.
Has anyone tried the game out? Is it any good, or a waste of money? THanks for the advise. |

hi ted me and doug have played a couple of games over the last couple of weeks and it seems easy and is really fun.we actually played a helms deep senario last night derek has the helms deep set from gw.well anyway it is fun ill talk to doug and find out when we can get together again and let ya know between me and doug we have plenty of figs.

Cool, thanks for the heads up John. Josh and I are going in on a box set in the near future, so I look forward to it. Of course, that means my money and painting time get divided three ways (Warmachine, LOTR and Confrontation), but I think I can do it.
Does the game seem like it would do okay moving into larger games? I am looking for a large scale battle game, and it seems that LOTR scales up well. ANy thoughts? |

ill bring my rule book on thurs if you want to take a look at it as far as large scale you can definetly do it i think they have some senarios with like a thousand urakai.anyway there supposed to come out with shelob sand the elephants so that will be awsome also.

Thanks for the input, John. I like the combination of cheap models and what appear to be easy rules.
One more question for you, though. Are there rules for Standards or units? I am not looking for magical standards, I am just wondering if they have any benefits or rules at all. Also, are the models broken into combat units, or is it every Uruk-hai for himself? Thanks again! |
