Cool, that works abit betterfor me. I was hoping to go play paintball on the 18th and was kinda torn about going to both. My army is obvious: Dark Angels. The points are looking pretty close to 3k at the moment. I need to put afew units together, but time has been kind of limited lately. Than painting too. Not alot of "fluff" , but I'll stand for the Imperium. ~Long Live the Emperor!~

June 7th is Worldwide Dungeons and Dragons day. This year we will be running D&D games non-stop all day long to celebrate the release of D&D 4th Edition (June 6th). Unfortunately, using 4 tables (or a large area in the front of the store) will probably not be an option. I will ask Derek to post something here later tonight in an effort to help you guys out. -Chase

I think we should limit it. If we each bring 2000, that gives space for 10 players (Assuming the forces of FAGos are sticking with 20,000). If we up it to 3,000, 7 people could play if the other side raised an extra 1,000 points. Let's figure out how many people want to play, so we can decide.

Posts: 56 (05/03/08 20:18:08) Initiate Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	With Chaos putting up 20,000 in two 10,000 point chunks, the opposition partitions that seem to make sense might be 4 * 5000, 5 * 4000, or 6 * 3333. I could cover any of the three, either with green Eldar or mixing my Feminine Guard and Feminine Chaos. As my Guard started out as cultists for my Chaos, such an alliance would be consistent with my fluff, and the paint schemes are compatible as well. I'm sure I'm not alone in being able to field comparable forces. We might give preference this time around to players who can put up 4000 to 5000 points, that are painted to a common theme, and who fit some theme best. I'd prefer to do Eldar, but if the theme is Imperial v Chaos, I could do my ladies. Of course, it's easy for me to suggest criteria I can meet.... Anyone care to propose a more specific theme than 'doesn't like Chaos'? I don't think Chaos likes Chaos... I'm also a bit concerned about different size armies and stratagems. Depending on how we define stratagems, one side might have 5000 points that can flank march, and 5000 points that can come out of reserve in turn one due to careful planning. Meanwhile, the opposition might argue for 10000 points that can both flank march and plan carefully. I might suggest that the 2 player side might properly divide their forces into 4 or 6 partitions, and only be able to apply one stratagem to each of the partitions. Just throwing out thoughts....

As Chase mentioned, that's world-wide D&D day. 4th Edition releases the day before and we'll be running events all throughout the store. The four front tables (as well as the rest of the store) are going to be needed to run games all day. I know it's been difficult to settle on a date that everyone can do, but June 7th is unfortunately not an option.

I say semi fluffy as the Ladies of the Night play under Chaos rules, though fluff wise they fear and detest the male demons more than the dislike the Imperium. (The Ladies are pro human, but hate the Emperor and his minions as much as they hate the followers of the other four major Chaos gods.) The Ladies also totally lack super heavies, titans, or such like, and have done poorly in prior encounters with Chaos. Thus, if we decide to go 2 on 2, and if someone else has a better Apocalypse force mix, I'd let them take it. I'd still like to be included in a 4 to 6 player opposition, though. But I do sort of have a hankering to put down my full feminine force. If someone does want to step up to take the Ladies place in a 2 on 2, I'll defer so long as someone, anyone, will oppose my full feminine force at some point.

Posts: 663 (05/04/08 09:34:58) Lord Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	the purpose of the battle was that rich and i were gonna be badass and take on like 6 people, and a 2 on 2 wouldnt really do that. id personally like to see an enemy force of true good guys and neutrals, meaning no chaos, tryanids, necrons, and only one ork army (blood axes). its generally assumed that the imperium would never ally with nids, chaos, necrons, and almost never orks (its happened a few times)
