Well, I've been playing L5R since Imperial Edition, but I have to confess, I didn't learn about this store until yesterday when my wife spied the sign.
I've got a Lion deck set up for the Gen-Con format (Diamond Format up to Enemy of my Enemy), but I can't go to Gen-Con this year. I'll bring it with me when I come to the store from now on. A lot of players I know have been drawn off by various other interests, finding the Diamond Format wasn't quite what they were looking for. Most of them are waiting for Lotus to come out to see what L5R is going to be like. Lotus should be a big shot in the arm for L5R in general, simplifying rules, getting Clans back to their thematic roots, conducting an public trouble-shoot / playtest and finally providing a solid Booster Draft format for L5R. Of course, now is a good time to collect L5R if you're looking forward to Lotus Edition. Web of Lies, Enemy of My Enemy, and Code of Bushido (the next set, being previewed right now online) all have Lotus-bugged cards that will be useful in the new format. Additionally, www.l5r.com put Dawn of the Empire back up for sale on their Web site. That will probably sell out quick, but there are a lot of cards that would make deck construction easier in that set for several Clans. I've rambled for quite a bit here, but the short form is: A.) I play L5R and will hang around and B.) Lotus is going to rock, so be ready. - Marty Lund |

The last couple of weeks have seen many mulpiplayer games between 4 players at the store. If you are interested in learning how to play or just to get in a game now would be the time. If enough interest gets generated Im sure Derek would let us start a night or host some events. AEG prize packages are always good too. If you need a change from your current card game or looking for another thats completely new check out L5R.
