Posts: 251 Jul 25 07 9:15 PM Swashbuckler Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Tags : None On Wednesday, 8/1/07, at 7ish pm (between 7 and 7:30ish) the first ever War at Sea Tournament will be held. The tourney has a $5 buy in cost that will go towards prizes. The tourney is 100pts and uses standard official War at Sea rules. The Rules Clarifications are available at wargamingforums.com/downl...ations.pdf (the pdf requires the FREE Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the file. You can get Acrobat Reader for FREE HERE). Rule Set: You need the Advanced Rulebook, it comes with the Starter box, and the Rules Clarifications to play. Prizes: All participants will receive 1 Promo War at Sea ship. The winner will receive the total $$ in store credit. The more people who play the more store credit you can win. If 3 people play then it is $15 store credit, 10 = $50 store credit, 20 = $100 store credit, etc. Fleet Restrictions: All normal fleet restrictions and regulations take place. No fleet can exceed 100pts. Points: Your fleet cannot have more than 100pts of models. It can be found under Downloads at the Wizards of the Coast site. I will be there for the tourney. I will also try to get as many 3D islands made for that night. Posts: 251 Jul 26 07 9:49 PM Swashbuckler Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Thanks John. Looks like WoTC got wise to people taking lots of subs and battleships and decided to balance the game. The Rules Clarifications for the Tourney can still be found at wargamingforums.com/downloads/War_at_Sea_Clarifications.pdf (I updated it to go to the new clarifications from July 18, 2007). Some serious negatives to taking subs and battleships now (ASW Threat, special Submarine phase, Small Ship Evasion). The change in Surface Attack phase (ships do torps then, have to choose between Torps & Guns OR ASW). Got to see a nice game of Mordheim though. I'm hoping, no firm plans, to be at BG on Tuesday around 7:30 to get some games in before the tourney. I know it isn't the usual day but if anyone is around and wants to play I hope to be there. Posts: 251 Aug 2 07 6:20 PM Swashbuckler Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	The tourney was canceled due to low attendance. It is rescheduled for Wednesday, August 15th at 7:30 pm. See the new thread here for more info on the tourney. Rick, I'm sorry you weren't able to make it for WAS. John and I got some good games in and John got to do an intro game with a new guy. Pretty nifty. Murf, Steve R. not sure what kept you but I know things pop up last minute. Hopefully you'll both be able to play in the tourney on the 15th. I'll be at BG on Mondays and Wednesday (August 6, 8, and 13) to run intro games, playtest my fleet, and help playtest any fleets you guys have. Also, I found out that there will officially be a Set 2. It is coming out beginning of 2008. There'll be more news at GenCon, Derek please get the info. I do know that the Graf Zeppelin (German carrier) will not be in this set.
